I started by checking out the specs. The CRF250L’s got a 250cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine. It is not a dirt bike but more like a street bike engine. Now, the official numbers say it puts out about 22.8 horsepower at 8500 RPM. That’s not exactly a powerhouse, but it’s decent for a bike of this type. It also stated that the maximum speed is about 86 mph.

In the end, I realized that the Honda CRF250L is a bit of a compromise. It’s a good all-around bike. It’s great for someone who wants to do a bit of both on and off the road. But if you’re looking for a pure dirt bike, this ain’t it. And if you’re expecting a speed demon, well, you might want to look elsewhere.
