Well, let me tell you somethin’ about that Georgia football team. They’re on a roll, ain’t they? A real win streak. Reminds me of my old rooster, always winnin’ them cockfights back in the day. That team, they’re just like that rooster, tough and don’t back down from nobody. They done won 29 games in a row. 29! Can you believe that? That’s a lot of wins. That’s an SEC record, you know.
My grandson, he’s always goin’ on and on about them Georgia Bulldogs. He says they’re the best team there ever was. I don’t know about all that, but they sure are somethin’ to watch. They got that coach, what’s his name? Kirby? Yeah, Kirby Smart. He’s got ’em all fired up, like a bunch of hornets in a jar. They play hard, them boys. They are some good boys.
They done won two of them big championships, too. Them SEC Championships, they called it, and also the National Championships. Big deal. My grandson, he got all them banners and flags. Red and black everywhere. Makes my head spin sometimes. But I’m proud of ’em. They work hard, and they win. That’s what counts, ain’t it?
You know, they play other teams too, not just them championships, they gotta play other teams. They play that team, Alabama, a lot. My grandson always nervous when they play Alabama. He says it’s a big rivalry. I seen that word on the TV one time, “rivalry”. They done played that Alabama team a whole bunch of times. Seems like Alabama used to win more, but lately, it’s been all Georgia. They say Alabama won 7 times straight against Georgia one time. Not anymore, though. Now it’s Georgia’s time to shine, I reckon.
They play that team from Atlanta, too. The one with the yellow jackets. Ain’t won there in a long time, I hear. Since 1999, they say. That’s a long time ago, that’s before my grandson was even born! I remember back then, well, seems like that team used to win more against Georgia. But not now. Georgia, they win now. They done got good.
And let me tell ya, them boys been playing football for a long, long time. Over a hundred years, I reckon. My old grandpappy used to talk about watchin’ ’em play, way back when. He’d sit on the porch and listen to it on the radio. Said it was the best thing since sliced bread. They started playin’ in 1892. They say they won over 800 games since then. 881 to be exact. That’s a heap of football, ain’t it?

This Georgia football team, they’re somethin’ else. They remind me of that old mule we used to have on the farm. Stubborn, strong, and just kept on goin’. That’s what this team does. They just keep on winnin’. And I’ll tell you what, it’s fun to watch. Even for an old lady like me, who don’t know much about football. But I know a winnin’ team when I see one. And this Georgia football team, they’re winners.
My grandson, he’s got me wearin’ them red and black shirts now. Says I gotta support the team. I told him I support ’em just fine from my armchair. But he says it ain’t the same. So now I got a closet full of red and black. And you know what? I kinda like it. Makes me feel like I’m part of somethin’ big. Somethin’ special. Like this win streak.
I don’t know how long this win streak is gonna last. Nothin’ lasts forever, you know. But for now, it’s somethin’ to behold. Somethin’ to be proud of. And I’m proud of them boys. Even if I don’t understand all them rules and whatnot. I understand winnin’. And that’s what they’re doin’. They’re winnin’. And they’re doin’ it in style. A real good Georgia football win streak. You can see it on TV.
I reckon they’ll keep on winnin’ for a while. They got that fire in their belly. Like a good batch of moonshine, it’ll keep ’em goin’. And I’ll be right here, watchin’ ’em, cheerin’ ’em on. In my red and black, of course. Go Dawgs, go! That’s what my grandson says. Go Dawgs! I reckon they are runnin’ wild!
