Okay, so I decided to draw Marcell Ozuna today. You know, the baseball player from the Atlanta Braves? Yeah, that guy. I’m not the best artist, but I figured, why not give it a shot?

First, I grabbed my sketchbook and a pencil. I also pulled up a few pictures of Ozuna on my phone to use as references. I found one where he was at bat, looking all focused and intense. I thought that would be a cool pose to try and draw.
I started by sketching out the basic shapes of his body. You know, a circle for the head, a rectangle for the torso, some lines for the arms and legs. It looked super rough at first, just a bunch of shapes, but it gave me a good foundation to build on. Don’t be afraid to use simple shapes to start!
Then, I started adding more details. I drew his face, trying to capture his determined expression. I added his uniform, the Braves logo, his batting helmet, and his bat. It was slow going, and I had to erase a lot of lines, but I started to see Ozuna taking shape on the page.
- Started with basic shapes.
- Added details like his face, uniform, and gear.
- Used my eraser – a lot.
The hands were the hardest part. Seriously, hands are tough to draw! I spent a good chunk of time just trying to get them to look right, holding the bat in a natural way. I erased and redrew them so many times, I thought I was going to wear a hole in the paper.
After a while, I stepped back to look at my drawing. It wasn’t perfect, not by a long shot. But you know what? It actually looked like Marcell Ozuna! I was pretty happy with that. I added some shading to give the drawing more depth, and then I called it done.

My Takeaways
Honestly, the most important thing I learned is to just keep practicing. And don’t be afraid to use your eraser. Like that one guy on Reddit said: “The most important tool is your eraser.” I think he’s right. And like I mentioned earlier, starting with basic shapes really helps.
I might try drawing other players in the future. Maybe I’ll even get good at drawing hands someday. Who knows? Anyway, it was a fun way to spend a few hours, and I ended up with a drawing that I’m not too embarrassed to share. If I can draw Marcell Ozuna, anyone can do it! Believe me!
