2014 NFL Draft Results: The Complete List! (Where Did Your Favorite Players Go?)

Must read

Okay, here is my blog post about the 2014 NFL draft results:

2014 NFL Draft Results: The Complete List! (Where Did Your Favorite Players Go?)

Man, the 2014 NFL draft was a wild ride. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was glued to the TV, refreshing like crazy to see who got picked where. I started following the draft the morning it started and didn’t stop until the last pick was announced.

I printed out a list of all the draft picks before it started. As each pick was announced, I wrote down the player’s name and team on my list. This took forever, but I really wanted a complete record of the draft.

I also kept notes on trades that happened during the draft. I marked down which teams traded up or down and what picks they exchanged. It was a bit chaotic, but I managed to keep up.

The Houston Texans had the number one pick, and everyone was talking about Jadeveon Clowney. And guess what? They picked him! I scribbled his name down first on my list, pretty cool to see him go number one.

I also remember Johnny Manziel being a big deal. When the Cleveland Browns took him at number 22, I jumped up and yelled. It was a big moment! I quickly jotted that down on my list, too.

Throughout the day, I kept updating my list and trade notes. It took hours to get through all the rounds, but I stuck with it. I filled pages and pages with all the picks and trades.

By the end of the draft, I had this huge, detailed record of everything that happened. I was exhausted but also super proud of my work. I put together all my notes and created a summary of each round.

  • Round 1 was full of surprises, with some unexpected picks and trades.
  • Rounds 2 and 3 had some solid players, and I recognized a lot of names from college football.
  • By the later rounds, I was less familiar with the players, but I still tracked each pick carefully.

Looking back, it was really interesting to see how those picks turned out. Some guys, like Clowney and Odell Beckham Jr., became big stars. Others didn’t quite live up to the hype. That’s the draft for you, always unpredictable.

Final Thoughts

Creating this detailed record of the 2014 NFL draft was a big project, but it was worth it. I learned a lot about the players and the process, and it was fun to follow along in real time. Plus, it’s cool to look back now and see how it all played out. I might do it again for future drafts, we’ll see!
