So, I was checking out something about the Kansas City Chiefs, you know, whether they made the playoffs or not. It’s been a thing on my mind, and I figured I’d just dive into it and see what’s up.
First thing I did was to start looking around for some basic info on their recent performance. Turns out, they did pretty damn well this season, even breaking their own record with a 15-2 win streak! That’s something, right? Because of that, they got the top spot in the AFC playoff bracket and even got a bye in the wild-card weekend. I mean, that’s huge!
But then I was curious about how often they’ve actually made it to the playoffs. So, I dug a bit deeper. They’ve been in the playoffs for 12 straight seasons. I’m trying to find another team has been in the playoffs for 12 straight seasons. And get this, they’ve made it to the playoffs a total of 21 times in their history. That’s a lot of playoff action!
I also checked their odds for making it to the playoffs this time around, just to see where they stood. From what I gathered, they had a 98% chance to make the playoffs, which is pretty much a sure thing. It dropped a bit, maybe 1%? But it is still nearly certain.

Then I started looking at some of their recent games. Like, they played against the Broncos and won 38-0. That win secured their playoff spot. And in another game against the Dolphins, their defense totally dominated. It was freezing cold, minus-4 degrees Fahrenheit at kickoff with a crazy wind chill of minus-27. But they still pulled through to the Divisional Round.
- Super Bowl Chances
I even looked into their chances for the Super Bowl. Turns out, they’re one of the favorites to win Super Bowl LIX. That’s scheduled for Feb. 9, 2025, in New Orleans. From what I saw, they have the second-best odds to win, according to some betting site.
- Historical Data
While I was at it, I got a bit nostalgic and looked up some historical stuff about the team. Like, did you know they used to be called the Dallas Texans? And I found out the last time they hosted a playoff game was on Jan 13, 2024. Time flies, huh?

So, yeah, that’s pretty much my whole process of figuring out whether the Chiefs made the playoffs and a bit more. They did, they’re in, and they’re looking strong. It’s been a fun little research journey, and now we all know a bit more about the Chiefs’ playoff history and their current standing. They beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl in 2023. Pretty cool, right?
