Okay, so, the other day I was reading through the Bible, you know, just doing my usual thing, and I came across this passage where Jesus is talking to Nicodemus. He says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” And I thought, wow, that’s pretty deep, right?

So, I started digging more into this whole idea of Jesus being the “risen King.” And it’s not just that one verse, it’s like, all over the place. I mean, you’ve got the disciples, right? These guys were like, total skeptics at first. But then, after Jesus’ resurrection, they totally changed their tune. They went from being all scared and hiding out to being ready to die for what they believed in. That’s a pretty big shift, you gotta admit.
Then I was checking out some stuff from Isaiah, the prophet. He talks about this “victorious righteous Servant of the LORD.” And it hit me, that’s Jesus! He’s the one Isaiah was talking about all along. This is the reason to celebrate, Easter! This is a big deal, and it makes so much sense when you really think about it. We have a righteous, living King, who was vindicated. It’s like, the ultimate proof that Jesus is who he says he is.
And it’s not just Isaiah, there are tons of other places in the Bible that point to Jesus as this promised King. Like, remember those wise men who came from afar? They knew something special was up, even back then. And then, after Jesus rose from the dead, it was like, boom, there’s the proof, he has divine authority. No more doubts.
I also found something pretty eye-opening from Pilate and Jesus’ conversation. Pilate asked, ‘You say that I am a king,’ then Jesus answered, ‘For this reason I was born and have come into the world.’ This is the moment, the reason why all of this happened.
And like Matthew, he’s all about worshiping Jesus, the risen King. He tells us about these appearances Jesus made after he rose. It’s like, Jesus is really driving the point home, you know? He wants us to get it.

What Really Matters
Then, I stumbled upon these quotes, and they just blew my mind. Martin Luther said, “The resurrection is the public display of the victory.” And another one, “Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime.” Isn’t that beautiful? It’s like, resurrection is everywhere, in everything.
And then, this quote from Martin Luther King Jr., it really hit home. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” And another, “I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality.” This stuff is powerful, man. It’s about love, it’s about truth, and it’s about how those things are stronger than anything else. And that relates to Jesus’ resurrection. That’s the ultimate victory of love and truth, right there.
There was also a quote from King, which was, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” This one challenged me to think about character, strength, and endurance, and how we are truly tested during those hard times.
So, yeah, that’s been my journey this week, diving into this whole “risen King” thing. It’s been a real eye-opener, and it’s made me see Jesus in a whole new light. It’s like, this isn’t just some old story, it’s something that’s real, and it’s something that can change your life if you let it.
Anyway, just wanted to share that with you all. Maybe it’ll give you something to think about, too. Let’s keep searching for truth, and let’s keep growing in our understanding of who Jesus really is. Peace out!
