So, the other day, I stumbled upon this idea to make all the WNBA team logos 3D. Pretty cool, right? I thought it would be a fun project to spice up the look of these logos.

Getting Started
First off, I started digging around to see what was already out there. Found a bunch of stuff about the WNBA’s logo—turns out they rebranded it back in 2013. It is all about diversity, which is awesome. But I was more interested in the 3D aspect.
Diving In
I found some people had made 3D models of NBA logos, so why not WNBA? I began searching online for 3D models of the WNBA logo. There were a few, but I wanted to create my own. I opened up my 3D modeling software—nothing too fancy, just something I could mess around with.
The Process
I started with the basic WNBA logo. It is that silhouette of a player, which they call “Logowoman.” I spent hours sketching out different ideas, trying to make it look right in 3D.
- Import the Logo: I took the flat logo image and imported it into the software.
- Extrude and Shape: Then, I extruded the shape to give it some depth. This part was tricky. I had to make sure it looked good from all angles.
- Add Details: I added some details, like smoothing out the edges and making the basketball more defined.
- Experiment with Colors: Played around with colors. Decided to stick with the classic orange and white, but made it pop a bit more.
The Result
After a lot of trial and error, I finally got something I was happy with. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a solid 3D version of the WNBA logo. I even made a few variations, just for fun. Some with different textures, some with different lighting.
Sharing My Work
I thought, “Hey, why not share this with others?” So, I exported the models and posted them online. I figured other WNBA fans might get a kick out of it. Plus, I wanted to see what other people could do with them. Maybe someone with more 3D skills could take it to the next level.

Overall, it was a pretty fun project. I learned a lot about 3D modeling, and it was cool to give the WNBA logo a fresh look. If you are into 3D design, give it a try! It is a fun way to get creative and show some love for the WNBA.
