Hey, guys, let me tell you about this little data deep dive I did the other day. It was all about Karl-Anthony Towns, the basketball player, and his steals per game. You know, I’m a bit of a stats nerd, so this kind of thing is right up my alley.

So, I started by just looking up some basic info. Found out that this season, Towns has been averaging about 0.9 steals a game. Not bad, right? But then I wanted to see how this stacked up against his whole career. That’s where things got a little trickier.
- I found one site, StatMuse, that has data on steals going back to the 1984-85 season.
- According to them, Towns has nabbed the ball 452 times in his entire career. They also had him down for 9 steals in his last 10 games.
- But then I hit a bit of a roadblock. I couldn’t find a straightforward career average for his steals per game anywhere.
- I mean, I could have tried to calculate it myself from the total steals and the number of games he’s played, but honestly, I was feeling a little lazy.
- Plus, who knows if all the data is accurate, right?
While I was at it, I also checked out some other random stats about Towns. Like, did you know he’s had three games where he scored over 50 points? Or that he averages 24.5 points, 13.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game? The guy’s a beast, no doubt.
I also stumbled across some comments about how he’s gotten stronger and longer over the years, and how he’s always been good at blocking shots. Seems like he’s a solid defender, in addition to being an offensive powerhouse.
Anyway, that was my little adventure in the world of Karl-Anthony Towns’s stats. It wasn’t the most groundbreaking research, but it was fun to dig around and see what I could find. Maybe next time I’ll actually do the math and figure out his career average for steals. Or maybe I’ll just watch some highlights and enjoy the game. We’ll see!
What’s your thoughts about this?
Let me know if you guys have any thoughts about the data I collected, or if you have any suggestions. Always happy to talk hoops!
