1995 Honda 900RR Review: Why This Bike Is Still a Legend Today!

Must read

Alright, so let’s talk about this beast – the 1995 Honda 900RR. I got my hands on one a while back, and man, it’s been a ride, literally and figuratively.

First off, I snagged this bike used. I mean, who buys a ’95 model new these days, right? Anyway, I found this beauty online. The pictures looked good, the description was decent, and the price? Well, let’s just say it was a steal. I contacted the seller, went to see it in person, and it was love at first sight. I paid the man, and just like that, she was mine.

Now, this thing is light. I remember reading somewhere that it’s lighter than most superbikes, and let me tell you, you feel it. Getting it home, I was a bit nervous. It’s a powerful machine, you know? But once I got going, it was like gliding.

The first few weeks were all about getting used to it. The 900RR is known for its quick steering, and some folks say it feels “twitchy.” I get what they mean, especially over bumps, but I wouldn’t call it a problem. Took some time to get the hang of it, but after that, it was smooth sailing. Riding it around town, I definitely noticed people turning their heads.

Of course, with an older bike, you gotta expect some work. I spent a good weekend cleaning it up, changing the oil, and just making sure everything was tight. Nothing major, thankfully. The engine, an 893cc inline-four, is a classic. It’s got these Keihin carburetors, which are pretty old-school, but they work like a charm.

  • Cleaned her up real good.
  • Gave her a fresh oil change.
  • Checked all the bolts and stuff.

I heard these bikes are pretty reliable, and so far, I gotta agree. I’ve put a few thousand miles on it, and it hasn’t skipped a beat. It’s surprisingly comfortable too, which is a plus for longer rides. I took it on a road trip with some buddies, and it handled like a dream. We hit some twisty roads, and the 900RR was just carving them up. The power is always there, ready when you need it.

This bike is fun. It is just fun. I know a lot of people had these back in the day, and I totally see why. It’s got that classic ’90s look, and it’s just a blast to ride. It will take some getting used to but she is a fun ride.

So yeah, that’s my story with the 1995 Honda 900RR. It’s been an adventure, and I’m looking forward to many more miles on this thing. If you ever get a chance to ride one, do it. You won’t regret it. If you find one for cheap like I did, I would say that it is worth it. It is a great bike for the price!

Things I really like about it:

  • It’s fast.
  • It’s pretty.
  • It’s fun!

Things that took some getting used to:

  • The steering is quick.
  • It’s an older bike, so you gotta stay on top of maintenance.

Overall, I’m loving this bike. It’s a classic for a reason, and I’m happy to be a part of its story.
