Okay, so, I finally got around to diving into that “Return of the True Demon” thing in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. Everyone’s been talking about it, and I gotta say, it’s a wild ride. First off, I made sure I had the “Return of the True Demon” DLC. No way was I missing out on this. I grabbed it from the Nintendo eShop, pretty easy, no problems there.

Once I had the DLC, I jumped back into the game and headed straight for the World of Shadows. You can’t miss it. That’s where I ran into Sophia. She’s the one who kicks off this whole questline. After a bit of chit-chat, she triggered the next part, and let me tell you, it was epic. We’re talking Spirit-Soul Fusion! I got to invoke the VIRAKIN SOUL!! I felt like a total badass.
This quest is basically a trip down memory lane, especially if you played Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne. It brings back a bunch of bosses from that game, which is super cool. I started exploring and fighting my way through. There were a ton of items to grab and some sweet rewards for completing parts of the quest. So, naturally, I collected everything I could find.
The whole thing is a series of battles against these dudes with menorahs. Yeah, if you’ve played Nocturne, you know what I’m talking about. They are tough, but beating them is so satisfying. And the best part? After I beat the main guy, the Demi-Fiend, he joined my team! Getting the Demi-Fiend on my side felt like a huge win. Now, I got this powerful ally fighting alongside me, and it’s awesome.
New Features
- New Areas: The game’s got these new areas that are a blast to explore.
- More Demons: There are way more demons now, which keeps things interesting.
- New Music: The music, as always, is top-notch and really sets the mood.
The battles are even better than before. They improved the battle system, making it more fun and engaging. Plus, there are new demon experiences, which I won’t spoil, but trust me, they’re worth checking out.
Overall, “Return of the True Demon” is a must-play if you’re into Shin Megami Tensei. The nostalgia, the battles, the new content, and the satisfaction of finishing it are just amazing. If you haven’t started it yet, what are you waiting for? Dive in and enjoy the ride!

I heard some folks saying it’s okay to start with the “Canon of Vengeance” even if you haven’t played the previous game’s story. So, don’t worry too much about the order. Just get in there and have fun!
That’s all I’ve got for now. It’s been a blast sharing this with you guys. Happy demon hunting!
