So, I got this idea to dig into something called “Unbridled’s Song.” Never heard of it before, to be honest. Turns out, it’s not a song you sing, but a racehorse! A pretty famous one, too, that lived from 1993 to 2013. Won some big races, like the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. I even tried to find out what the horse’s name meant, but I couldn’t find any solid information.
I started by looking up information on a horse racing website, but I quickly got lost in a sea of names and numbers. It was all about which horses won which races, who their parents were, and how much money they made. Not really what I was looking for.
Then, I found a video about Unbridled’s Song, and it was pretty cool! It showed some of its races, and man, that horse could run! It was exciting to watch, even though I don’t know much about horse racing. The horse was a trendsetter in the sales ring with 200 dollars! He was also a winner of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile! I discovered that he was trained by Jim Ryerson, for all but his last two starts. His career is in many ways more prototypical of the modern commercial Thoroughbred than that of A.P. Indy.
Here’s what I found out about Unbridled’s Song:
- He was a gray Thoroughbred horse.
- He won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile in 1995.
- He was trained by Jim Ryerson for most of his career.
- Secretariat still holds the records for all three of the Triple Crown races, and Unbridled’s Song remained in Paragallo’s ownership.
I also found out that Unbridled’s Song was a pretty big deal in the horse racing world. He was a “sire of sires,” which means his kids were also successful racehorses. Apparently, that’s a rare and important thing in the racing world. He was a trendsetter in the sales ring. I found out that the most common tune in racing is “Assembly of the Buglers,” a.k.a. “First Call.” It’s a military tune.
What I Learned
Even though I didn’t find out everything I wanted to know, I still learned a lot. I learned that Unbridled’s Song was a famous and successful racehorse, and that he had a big impact on the sport. I also learned a little bit about the world of horse racing, which was interesting. Overall, it was a fun little project, and I’m glad I took the time to do it.
Oh, and I also tried searching for a song with the name ‘Unbridled’, it is a song by lil soda boi, but I wasn’t able to find out much about it. It seems like it’s not a very popular song.
