Where to Watch: What Network Is the Vikings Game On?

Must read

Alright, let’s talk about the Vikings game and how I finally managed to watch it. It’s been a real pain trying to figure out which network has the rights to their games this season. You’d think it’d be simple, right?

Figuring Out the Networks

So, first things first, I had to do some digging. Turns out, the Vikings games are usually on CBS. That’s where I started.

  • Checked CBS: I tuned into my local CBS station, but most of the time, no luck. I realized it’s not always on the same channel, especially if there are other big events going on.

Finding the Right Game

Then, I learned that this particular game, the one against the Packers in Week 17, was going to be on FOX. Not CBS, but FOX. Why do they make it so complicated?

  • Switched to FOX: Finally found the game! But wait, who are these commentators?
  • Commentator Confusion: I heard it was going to be Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady in the booth. I guess they were right, because it sounded like them, or maybe I just imagined it.

Streaming Options

Now, for those of you who don’t have cable, there are ways to stream these games. I tried a couple of options.

  • Fox Sports App: I downloaded the Fox Sports app on my phone. You need a TV provider login for this, though. Luckily, I could borrow one from a friend.
  • fuboTV: I also checked out fuboTV. They have a free trial, which is pretty cool, but be careful about regional restrictions. It’s not available everywhere.

Other Games and Schedules

Oh, and I found out that the Lions are playing the Vikings in Week 18, and that’s going to be on NBC and Peacock. It’s like they’re trying to see how many different platforms they can use in one season.

  • Looking Ahead: Marked my calendar for the Lions game. Hopefully, it’ll be easier to find than this one was.

Dealing with Favorites and Odds

By the way, I saw that Minnesota is a 3-point favorite against Seattle. I don’t bet, but it’s interesting to see how these things are predicted.

  • No Betting for Me: I just watch for the fun of it. But for those who do bet, that might be something to keep in mind.

So yeah, that’s been my little adventure trying to watch the Vikings. It shouldn’t be this hard, but hey, at least I got to see the game in the end. Hope this helps someone else out there who’s just trying to catch a football game without all the hassle.
