How I Dug Up This Hammers Buzz
Fancied doing some proper footie gossip digging today. Had my morning cuppa while scrolling through Twitter like always. Saw some West Ham fan accounts buzzing about contract talks and signings. Figured I’d try verifying it myself proper like.
First off texted my mate Dave who works near the training ground. Asked him what players’ cars he spotted early morning. He mentioned Souček rolled in extra early alongside the gaffer. That got my antenna twitching.
Then I hit the club forums proper. The Knees Up Mother Brown forum had mad chatter about Zouma. One bloke claiming his barber heard from a physio that contract talks hit a snag. Screenshotted that thread for my notes.
Went down the local chippy at lunchtime. Tony behind the counter swore his nephew saw agents at Rush Green Monday. Said he overheard “£140k” and “London Stadium” mentioned. Could be bollocks but scribbled it down anyway.
Checked my WhatsApp groups with other London bloggers. Big Al reckons he’s got concrete intel on that Brazilian lad from Corinthians. Apparently medicals got moved up suddenly. Just slapped that into my Google Keep with a 🔴⚒️ emoji.
Scrolled through Spanish papers before tea. AS kept going on about Álvarez being “insecure” about his role. Sounds like tabloid fluff but still highlighted it yellow in my notebook.
Finished up proper cross-referencing everything tonight. Looked at players’ Insta follows – noticed Paquetá liked posts from some French agent recently. Not proof but makes you wonder.
So here’s the goss I’d put my chips on:
- Contract madness – Zouma wants longer deal, Souček close to extending with lower release clause
- New faces – Brazilian winger Wesley Gassova looks legit, medical team prepping for late July
- Exit whispers – Couple Prem clubs asking about Downes’ loan recall options
Dunno why but transfer season gets my blood pumping more than actual matches sometimes. Got proper mud on my shoes chasing this lot today.
