Alright folks, today’s adventure was figuring out the tournament mess at Craft Farms Golf Course. Total chaos trying to find when things actually happen. Let me walk you through this headache.
The Initial Frustration
So, first thing this morning, I grabbed my coffee and thought, “Hey, wanna watch that new tournament next month.” Pulled out my laptop, went straight to Google, typed in “Craft Farms Golf tournaments upcoming.”
Clicked the top result – looked legit, probably their main page. Scrolled down, saw “Events” tab. Got excited. Clicked it.
Bam. A calendar pops up. Empty. Zero. Zilch. Just little boxes with numbers. No names, no details, nada. What even is this?
Digging Deeper into the Rabbit Hole
Okay, maybe I need to try harder. Scrolled their whole damn site. Found a “Tournaments” section buried under “Golf Programs.” Clicked it.
Got hit with a wall of text. “Junior Camps,” “Leagues,” some charity thing from last year. Seriously? Where’s the actual competitive stuff? The pro-ams, the member-guest? Felt like looking for a specific needle in a haystack full of other needles.
The Social Media Detour
Closed the laptop, grabbed my phone. Figured, “Surely their social media is updated?” Hopped onto their Facebook page. Scrolled for ages.
- Pictures of the greens? Yep.
- Posts about aeration? Check.
- Random lunch specials? Got those.
- Upcoming tournament dates? Not a single post in sight. Radio silence.
Checked Instagram. Same story – gorgeous course pics, zero tournament info. Useless.
The Phone Call Fiasco
Getting annoyed now. Coffee’s cold. Dialed the main pro shop number listed on the site. Got hit with an automated phone tree.
- Press 1 for tee times.
- Press 2 for the restaurant.
- Press 3 for lessons.
- Press ? for tournament info? No option. Sat on hold listening to bad hold music for 10 minutes before someone picked up.
“Yeah, hi, trying to find out when tournaments are happening?” Staff sounded tired. “Uh, yeah, hang on…” Lots of keyboard clicking. “We usually post flyers… near the bag drop… sometime soon?” Super vague. “Try calling back later?” Yeah, real helpful. Thanks.
The Accidental Solution (At the Course)
Had to run an errand near the course anyway this afternoon. Thought, “Screw it, I’ll drive over.” Parked, walked into the pro shop pretending I knew what I was doing.
There it was. Right next to the register. A big, fat, physical binder. Like, an actual paper book. Thick plastic pages.
Flipped it open. Boom. Goldmine.

Just physically go to the damn pro shop and look for the tournament binder sitting on the counter. Ridiculous? Yes. But it’s the only thing that actually worked.
