Cardinals vs Rockies Schedule Matchup Details and Latest News Update

Must read

So today I decided to track every detail of the Cardinals-Rockies game like I always do. First thing, I grabbed my worn-out scorebook and plopped on the couch with the remote. Flipped ESPN on right at 7 PM sharp, cracked open a Bud Light, and saw both teams taking warm-up swings. Mountain time zone throws me off sometimes but I caught the first pitch.

Setting Up My Tracking

I had my laptop open to MLB stats page on one side and my handwritten chart on the other. Made three columns: Cardinals lineup, Rockies lineup, and my own notes section. Used different colored pens – blue for Cards, purple for Rockies, red for crazy plays. Sharpened three pencils just in case. Yeah I’m old-school like that.

Play-By-Play Madness

Bottom of the third inning, Arenado smacked a line drive to left field. Jumped up so fast I almost spilled my beer! Scratched it in my book with that red pen while yelling “THAT’S HOW YOU DO IT!” Left a big ink blotch from excitement. Then in the fifth, Rockies’ pitcher served up a meatball that Goldschmidt demolished. Watched that ball fly while scribbling “NO DOUBTER” in all caps.

    Wildest Moments

  • Rockies catcher’s wild throw to second base – looked like a scared duck
  • Rain delay in the 7th where I ate two hot dogs waiting
  • That insane diving catch by Cardinals center fielder – still got grass stains on TV

When Helsley took the mound for the ninth, I was biting my nails down to stubs. Three strikeouts straight? Yeah I circled that three times in my book. Final score was 6-4 Cards which made me pump my fist. Closed my scorebook around midnight feeling pumped even though I gotta work tomorrow.

Shoving my scorebook into the overstuffed drawer with my others now. Maybe I’ll tape that Goldschmidt homerun page on the fridge. Wife complains about my baseball papers everywhere but hey, it’s my thing right?
