How to beat the Cloud Cruisin on Monopoly Go event? Try these simple player strategies to succeed!

Must read

Alright, so this ‘Cloud Cruisin” thing just dropped in Monopoly GO. You know how it is, another event, another reason to burn through those dice. First thing I noticed? 46 milestones. Yeah, forty-six. My first thought was, “Okay, this is gonna be a bit of a grind.” But hey, they always get you with the promise of more dice, those sticker packs we’re all chasing, and a bit of in-game cash, which never hurts.

My First Steps into the Clouds

So, I jumped in. Didn’t really have a grand plan at first, just started rolling, you know, feeling things out. I usually just play by instinct, see where the dice take me. But then I remembered reading something, some kind of “pro tip” for these events. It was about how to maximize your points, especially when you’re gunning for those event-specific tiles on the board.

The strategy went something like this: you’re supposed to roll with a low multiplier, like x1, just casually moving around. But then, when you’re about 6, 7, or 8 squares away from a railroad – ’cause railroads are often key in these tournament events – that’s when you crank up your multiplier to the max. The idea is, you’ve got a decent shot, like 16 out of 36 chances or something, of hitting a 6, 7, or 8 with two dice. Smart, right? Or so it sounds.

Putting Theory into Practice

So, I decided to give this a real go. I was patient, I swear. Kept my multiplier low, just tapping along. Then, BAM, railroad in sight! I’d ramp up that multiplier, heart pounding a little, hoping for that sweet landing. Did it work? Well, let me tell ya.

  • Sometimes, it was pure magic. Landed smack on the railroad, got a heap of event points, felt like a genius.
  • Other times? Oh boy. I’d either shoot right past it, or land one square short, or even worse, land on ‘Go to Jail’ right before it. Classic.
  • It really felt like a gamble within a gamble. You’re gambling on the dice roll, and then you’re gambling on when to increase that multiplier.

It’s funny, I always tell myself I’m not gonna get sucked in too deep by these events. “Just play casually,” I say. “Grab a few easy rewards.” But then you start seeing those milestones, and you’re like, “Oh, the next one isn’t that far.” Next thing you know, it’s late, and I’m meticulously counting squares and trying to outsmart the game. This Cloud Cruisin’ was no different. I had this one evening, I was so close to a big sticker pack, just needed a few more of those little cloud tokens. I swear the game knew. It dangled it right in front of me.

Cruisin’ Through the Milestones

Anyway, I kept at it. Rolled a ton of dice. Watched my little car token zoom around that board. Sometimes it felt like I was actually cruising, hitting all the right spots, collecting those event tokens like there was no tomorrow. Other times, it felt like I was stuck in molasses, just burning dice and getting nowhere fast. I landed on ‘Chance’ a lot, hoping for something good, and usually just got sent to another property I didn’t need at that moment.

The rewards were… well, they were Monopoly GO rewards. More dice, which you immediately pour back into the event, some cash, and those sticker packs. Getting a new sticker is always a little thrill, not gonna lie. Hitting some of those bigger milestones felt pretty good, a small sense of accomplishment, you know? Even if it meant my dice stash took a beating.

Overall, this Cloud Cruisin’ event was pretty much what you’d expect. A bit of a chase, a bit of luck, and a whole lot of tapping that roll button. The theme was alright, kinda chill. Did I manage to complete all 46 milestones? Nah, not this time. Got a good chunk of the way, though. And I learned, once again, that “strategy” in this game is often just a polite word for “crossing your fingers really hard.” But hey, that’s part of the fun, right? Or maybe I’m just telling myself that until the next event pops up.
