Alright, so I kept seeing this wild-eyed guy screaming “Let Me In!” everywhere online. You know the one, Eric Andre smashing himself against some barricade. At first, I just scrolled past, like, whatever, another internet thing.
But then it kept popping up. People used it for everything – waiting for a website to load, trying to get into a conversation, wanting food someone else was eating. Kinda started to grow on me, the sheer desperation of it.
Getting the Idea
So one afternoon, I was locked out of my own shed. Seriously. Left the keys inside like a dummy. Stood there jiggling the handle, feeling like a complete idiot. And bam! That meme popped into my head. It was perfect. Me, the shed door, the screaming face. I thought, okay, I gotta try making this.
The Making Of
Seemed simple enough, right? Find the picture, add some text. Easier said than done, man.
Finding the Base Image
First, I had to find a clean version of the meme pic. Took a bit of digging through image searches. Found a decent quality one finally. Saved it to my desktop.
Adding the Text (The Hard Part)
Now, adding my situation. I don’t have fancy photo editing software. Just the basic stuff that comes with the computer, like Paint. Opened it up. Tried adding text over the image. Looked awful. The font was wrong, the size was weird. It just didn’t look like the memes I saw online.
- Tried drawing a white box first, then typing in it. Still looked clunky.
- Googled “meme generator eric andre let me in”. Found a few sites.
- Uploaded the image to one of them. Typed in “Me trying to get into my shed after locking the keys inside”.
- That was way easier. Clicked generate. Boom. Looked much better.
The Result and Sharing
Okay, so I cheated a bit using a generator, but hey, it worked. Had my own personalized “Let Me In!” meme. Felt kinda silly but also satisfying. I saved the image.
Sent it to my buddy Dave, the one who always ribs me for being forgetful. He just replied with a bunch of laughing emojis. Then I showed my wife. She rolled her eyes but chuckled. Said it was pretty accurate.
Didn’t post it anywhere public, just kept it for a laugh between us. It’s funny how these little internet pictures can capture a feeling so perfectly sometimes. Even if it’s just the feeling of being an idiot locked out of your own shed. Pretty simple process once I found that generator tool, but kinda fun to actually make one instead of just seeing them.
