My Thoughts on Ricochet Making the Jump
Alright, so let’s talk about Ricochet turning up in AEW. Been seeing the chatter for ages, right? People wondering where he’d land once his WWE deal was up. I gotta say, I wasn’t holding my breath, but I wasn’t exactly shocked either when it finally happened.
I remember seeing him do his thing in WWE. Guy’s got talent, flips and all that. Impressive stuff, sure. But you always kinda felt like something was missing, like they didn’t quite know what to do with him half the time. He’d get a push, then vanish. Get the Intercontinental title, then back to catering, felt like.
So, the process for me finding out was pretty standard. Just doing my usual scrolling, checking the news feeds, seeing what’s what in the wrestling world. Then I saw the reports flood in after All In London. Ricochet. AEW. Casino Gauntlet Match. August 25th. All the keywords jumping out.
My first reaction? Less ‘wow’ and more ‘huh, okay then’. It makes sense, doesn’t it? AEW loves bringing in former WWE guys, especially ones known for high-flying action. It fits their mold, at least on paper.
Here’s what I actually did, my little ‘practice’ you could say:
- Checked multiple sources. You know how rumours fly, gotta verify.
- Went back and watched the clip of his entrance at Wembley. Big pop from the crowd, looked like a big deal moment.
- Thought about the roster. Where does he fit? Who does he feud with?
Honestly, the big question now is how they’ll use him. AEW’s roster is packed. Seriously packed. We’ve seen guys debut hot and then kinda get lost in the shuffle. Ricochet’s got the skills, no doubt. But will he get consistent time? Will he get meaningful stories? Or will he just be the cool-moves guy in multi-man matches?
It’s a wait-and-see game. Seen it happen plenty of times before with other signings. Big splashy debut, lots of excitement, then… well, sometimes it works out great, sometimes it just fizzles. Hope he does well, always good to see talent get a fresh start. But yeah, not gonna call it a game-changer just yet. Just another piece moved on the board. Let’s see how the game plays out.
