FFXIV 8.0: Exploring the Future of Final Fantasy XIV

Must read

Okay, so you guys know I’ve been messing around with Final Fantasy XIV for ages, right? Well, 8.0 is on the horizon, and I’ve been diving deep into prepping for it. Here’s the lowdown on my adventures.

FFXIV 8.0: Exploring the Future of Final Fantasy XIV

First things first, I made sure my main character was ready. I’m talking completely maxed out level, all the current endgame gear fully melded, the whole shebang. I didn’t want to hit the ground running in 8.0 only to realize I was still using gear from two patches ago.

Then, I started stockpiling resources. Gil, obviously, but also crafter materials. I figured new recipes would be dropping, and the marketboard would be insane for the first few weeks. So, I spent a solid week just gathering and crafting, trying to get a decent head start. I even leveled up all my crafters and gatherers to the current max, just in case.

Next up: clearing out my inventory and retainers. Seriously, my inventory was a disaster. I spent hours sorting through old gear, desynthesizing stuff, and selling everything I didn’t need. My retainers were even worse. It felt like a digital version of spring cleaning, but it was totally worth it. A clean inventory is a happy inventory.

I also looked into the potential job changes. We all know how SE likes to tweak classes with each expansion. So, I read up on all the early speculation and theories. I even tried out a few different jobs to see if I wanted to switch mains. Spoiler alert: I didn’t. But it was good to be prepared.

Finally, I revisited some old content. I ran some old dungeons, trials, and raids, just to refresh my memory. It was a fun way to kill time while waiting for 8.0, and it also helped me remember some of the game’s lore and story. Plus, it’s always nice to help out some new players who are running the content for the first time.

Now, I’m just waiting for the expansion to drop. I’ve got my snacks, my drinks, and my gaming chair all set up. Wish me luck!
