Jaramillos Barber Shop services: What kind of fades and cuts they offer.

Must read

Okay, so I needed a haircut pretty bad. My usual spot was closed, and I remembered hearing some folks talk about jaramillo’s barber shop down the street. Never been there, figured I’d give it a shot. Why not, right?

Finding the Place

Walked over there mid-morning. It wasn’t hard to find, tucked between a laundromat and a little grocery store. Had that classic barber pole spinning outside, which I always think is cool. Looked kinda old-school from the window, which I actually like.

Stepping Inside

Pushed the door open, and yeah, it definitely had that traditional vibe. Smelled like talcum powder and maybe a hint of aftershave. There were a couple of older guys already in the chairs, and one fella waiting. The barber, who I guess was Jaramillo himself, nodded when I came in. He was busy with a client but acknowledged me, which was nice.

I took a seat in one of the waiting chairs. They were those old, heavy vinyl ones. Comfortable enough. Looked around a bit. Lots of local sports stuff on the walls, faded photos. Felt like a place that had been around forever, you know? Real community feel.

Getting the Cut

Didn’t wait too long, maybe ten minutes. The barber finished up, swept the floor real quick, wiped down the chair, and called me over. “What’ll it be today?” he asked. Simple, direct.

I just told him, “Keep it pretty short on the sides and back, trim the top a bit. Nothing fancy.”

He got right to work. Didn’t talk a whole lot, which is fine by me sometimes. Just focused on the cut. Used the clippers, then scissors. Moved efficiently, like he’d done it a million times. Which he probably has.

  • He checked in once, asking if the length on top was okay.
  • Used a straight razor for the back of the neck – always appreciate that touch.
  • Finished up with a little brush-off.

The Result

Looked in the mirror he held up. Yep, that’s a haircut alright. Clean, neat, exactly what I asked for. No surprises, just a solid, decent cut. Paid the man – price was very reasonable, by the way. Way less than some of those fancier places.

Walked out feeling lighter and cleaner. It wasn’t anything revolutionary, just a good, honest haircut in a proper old-school barber shop. Sometimes, that’s all you need. Felt good finding a place like jaramillo’s still doing things the traditional way. Might just become my new regular spot.
