Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another deep dive into my latest project. Today, we’re talking about something that’s close to my heart – football, and specifically, the Indianapolis Colts’ uniforms. I’ve been tinkering around with some ideas and I wanted to share the whole process with you all.

So, I started off by just browsing through some info online. You know, the usual – checking out what the Colts have been wearing and what they might wear in the future. I stumbled upon some interesting tidbits about the Colts bringing back their “Indiana Nights” look. Apparently, it’s inspired by the blue and black of the Indiana night skies. Pretty cool, right? I dug a little deeper and found that they have this neat “C” logo with the Indiana state outline carved into it. That got my creative juices flowing.
My Design Process
- Gathering Inspiration: First, I spent hours looking at different uniform designs, not just for the Colts but other teams too. I wanted to get a feel for what’s out there and what fans seem to like.
- Sketching Ideas: Then, I grabbed my sketchbook and started doodling. I played around with the “Indiana Nights” theme, trying to incorporate the “C” logo in different ways. I also experimented with different shades of blue and black, trying to capture that night sky vibe.
- Digital Mockups: After I had a few sketches I liked, I moved to my computer. I used some design software to create digital mockups of the uniforms. This is where things started to get real. I could see my ideas taking shape, and it was pretty exciting.
- Getting Feedback: I shared my designs with some friends who are also big Colts fans. I asked them for their honest opinions. Some of the feedback was tough, but it was super helpful. It pushed me to refine my designs and make them even better.
- Finalizing the Designs: Based on the feedback, I made some tweaks here and there. I adjusted the colors, refined the logo placement, and made sure everything looked just right. It was a lot of back and forth, but I think it paid off.
I’ve seen some AI-generated rankings that put the Colts’ uniforms at 17th in the NFL. I mean, they’re simple – blue jersey, white pants. But I think there’s room to do something special, especially with this “Indiana Nights” theme. I saw that they’ll be wearing it for their game against the Detroit Lions, so that’s pretty exciting.
I noticed that teams usually announce uniform changes on Twitter. Like, the Saints often wear white at home in the early weeks. It got me thinking about how fans react to these changes. There’s always a buzz when a team switches things up.
In the end, I ended up with a few different designs that I’m really proud of. It was a fun project, and it made me appreciate the thought and effort that goes into designing these uniforms. Who knew there was so much to it? Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this little behind-the-scenes look at my process. Let me know what you think in the comments!
This was a blast, and it just goes to show that sometimes, a little inspiration from the night sky is all you need to come up with something cool.
