They say Oregon is the favorite. What does that even mean? Guess they’re supposed to be better? Heard someone say they’re favored by 3.5 points. What in tarnation is half a point? Ain’t no such thing as half a point in my book. Either you score or you don’t.

Well, I sure don’t know. If I knew, I’d be down at the betting parlor, wouldn’t I? People are talking ’bout this Big Ten Championship Game like it’s the end of the world. Said something about Oregon, if they win, then they’re number one. Number one what, I don’t know. Maybe number one team. That’s what those young folks care about these days.
And this Penn State, they say they could fall to 5, 6, 7, maybe even 8. Fall where? Down a well? These young folks talk in riddles. Just say what you mean! If they lose, they lose. That’s all there is to it. Don’t need no fancy numbers to tell you that.
I remember back in my day, we didn’t have no fancy Big Ten Championship Game. We just played, and whoever won, won. Simple as that. No need for all this rigmarole. Now it’s all ’bout odds and predictions.

December 7th, they say. That’s when it’s happening. Some fancy stadium, Lucas Oil, I hear. Never been there myself. Don’t need to. I got my old radio, and that’s all I need. It can tell me who wins this Big Ten Championship Game.

Now, I hear folks are betting on this game. Putting their hard-earned money on it. Seems silly to me. Why risk your money on something you can’t control? But hey, to each their own, I reckon. Just don’t come crying to me when you lose your shirt.
They got all these fancy terms for betting, too. Odds and lines and whatnot. Sounds like a bunch of gobbledygook to me. Back in my day, you just bet a dollar on your favorite team, and that was that. No need for all this complicated stuff. All this talk ’bout the Big Ten Championship Game is making my head spin.
I reckon some folks like to make things complicated. Me, I like to keep things simple. You play the game, you win or you lose. That’s all there is to it. This Big Ten Championship Game is just another game, far as I’m concerned.
But I guess for these young folks, it’s a big deal. They get all excited about it. Good for them, I suppose. Keeps ’em out of trouble. Least, that’s what I hope.
Why All the Fuss About This Big Ten Championship Game?
You know, I just don’t get it. Why is everyone so worked up about this one game? It’s just a game! Sure, it’s the Big Ten Championship Game, but still, it’s just a bunch of fellas running around with a ball.
Maybe I’m just getting old. Maybe I just don’t understand the world anymore. But back in my day, we didn’t make such a big fuss over things like this. We had other things to worry about. Like putting food on the table and keeping a roof over our heads.
But I guess times have changed. Now, people have the luxury of worrying about things like football games. And this Big Ten Championship Game seems to be the biggest worry of them all.
Well, I’ll be watching, I suppose. Or rather, listening. On my old radio. And I’ll be curious to see who wins. Oregon or Penn State. It don’t really matter to me.
