Right, so I wanted to share something from my trip down to Liverpool recently. Wasn’t anything massive, just one of those little things you stumble across.

I was basically just killing time, ended up near the Albert Dock, I think. Decided to duck into a pub, looked quiet enough. Grabbed a pint and sat down.
They had some music on, just background noise mostly. But then this one song came on. It was… different. Hard to explain. Just had a good feel to it, caught my attention properly.
So, I went up to the bar when I got another drink. Asked the fella behind the counter, “Any idea who this is?”. He shrugged, wiped the counter down. “Think it’s a local bloke,” he said. “Jamie Gallagher, maybe? Rings a bell.”
Finding Out More
The name sort of stuck in my head. Jamie Gallagher. Liverpool. When I got back to my digs later that night, I had a quick look online. Just typed that into the search bar.
- Found a couple of mentions on local music sites.
- Looked like he plays gigs around the city, small venues mainly.
- Maybe some recordings floating about, but nothing major label.
Seemed like one of those genuine local talents you hear about. Proper grassroots stuff.
The music itself? Well, it wasn’t going to change the world, let’s be honest. But it was good. Honest, you could say. Had that kind of raw edge, bit folky, bit rocky maybe? Definitely felt like Liverpool, if that makes sense. Just thought it was interesting, finding someone like that just by chance in a random pub.
So yeah, that was my little discovery. Jamie Gallagher from Liverpool. Worth keeping an ear out for if you’re ever around there, maybe you’ll catch him playing somewhere.
