Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz about this “Rogue Marvel Rivals” thing, and I figured, why not jump in and see what the fuss is all about? I’m not the biggest Marvel fan, but I do enjoy a good hero shooter, so I decided to give it a shot.

First things first, I had to figure out where to actually find the game. Turns out, it wasn’t as straightforward as I thought. It’s not your usual Steam or console download. After a bit of digging around, I discovered that it was a closed alpha test. Bummer! But, determined as I am, I went to hunt for how to join to the alpha test.
After that I filled out the application, crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. It took a few agonizing days of waiting, checking my email every five minutes like a lovesick teenager, and then BAM! There it was, the golden ticket – an invitation to the alpha test!
I downloaded the game, which took a surprisingly short amount of time, and fired it up. The first thing that hit me was the character selection screen. A bunch of familiar faces stared back at me – Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, and even some I didn’t recognize. I’m a sucker for the classics, so I picked Spider-Man. Gotta love that web-slinging action!
The tutorial was pretty standard. It walked me through the basic controls – movement, shooting, special abilities, all that jazz. Nothing too groundbreaking, but it was solid and got the job done. After I got the hang of things, I jumped into a quick match.
The gameplay itself felt pretty good. It’s fast-paced, chaotic, and definitely team-oriented. You gotta work with your teammates to secure objectives and take down the enemy squad. I spent most of my time swinging around the map as Spider-Man, flanking enemies and generally being a nuisance. It’s surprisingly satisfying to snag someone with a web shot and yank them out of position.

- One thing I really enjoyed was the destructible environments. You can blast holes in walls, topple buildings, and generally wreak havoc on the map. It adds a nice layer of strategy and makes the battles feel more dynamic.
- The different characters all felt unique, each with their own playstyle and abilities. I tried out a few others, like Iron Man with his repulsor blasts and Hulk with his ground-smashing fury.
I did encounter a few bugs and glitches, which is to be expected in an alpha test. Sometimes the game would freeze for a second, or a character model would get stuck in the environment. Nothing game-breaking, but definitely noticeable.
Overall, my first impressions of “Rogue Marvel Rivals” are pretty positive. It’s a fun, action-packed hero shooter with a lot of potential. It definitely needs some polish and bug fixing, but the core gameplay is solid.
I’m excited to see how it develops and what new characters and features they add in the future. If you get a chance to try it out, I’d say go for it! Just be prepared for a few rough edges.
