Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with creating some “mickey mouse tracks.” I’ve had this idea in my head for a while, and I finally decided to give it a shot. Here’s how it went down:
Getting Started
First, I needed to figure out what I was actually going to use for the tracks. I rummaged through my garage and found some old, flexible plastic tubing. It was pretty dirty, so I scrubbed it down with some soap and water. I wanted something bendy, so I could make the tracks curvy, you know?
Shaping the Tracks
Next, I laid out the tubing on my workbench. I wanted to make a simple loop-de-loop, like a mini roller coaster. I used some heavy books to hold down sections of the tubing while I shaped it. It took a little bit of wrestling, but I finally got a shape I liked.
Securing the Tracks
- I grabbed some duct tape – that stuff fixes everything, right?
- I taped the tubing down to the workbench in a few key spots, making sure it wouldn’t move around too much.
- I also used some small clamps to hold the loop-de-loop part in place. It was a bit tricky, but it worked!
Test Run!
Now for the fun part! I found a small toy car – one of my kid’s old ones. I placed it at the top of my track and let it go! It zipped down, went around the loop (mostly!), and then flew off the end. Haha! It wasn’t perfect, but it was pretty cool.
Tweaks and Adjustments
Of course, it didn’t work perfectly the first time. I spent some time adjusting the curves, adding more tape, and trying different cars. Some cars were too heavy, some were too light. It was all about finding the right balance.

I would experiment more to improve the track.
Eventually, I got a pretty good setup going. It wasn’t exactly professional-looking, but it was fun to build, and it actually worked! I spent a good couple of hours just messing around with it. It’s amazing what you can do with some old tubing and a little bit of imagination. Might try a bigger version next time!
