Okay, here’s my blog post about figuring out the meaning of “equis” in English:

So, today I was messing around online, and I kept seeing this word “equis” pop up. I’m like, what the heck does that even mean? I’ve seen it in memes, comments, and even some articles, it’s everywhere! It got under my skin, so I had to find out.
My Little Investigation
First, I went straight to my usual. I typed “equis meaning” into the search bar. A bunch of stuff about horses came up…equine this, equestrian that. Okay, not helpful. Clearly, the internet was thinking about a different “equis.”
Then, I got a bit smarter. I added “slang” to my search. “Equis meaning slang.” Boom! That did it. Several results, It seems to be a simple filler word, like ‘whatever’ .
- It’s that “X” letter in Spanish.
- It can mean “whatever” or “meh”.
- Used to brush something off, that it is indifferente.
Putting it All Together
So, from what I gathered, “equis” isn’t some super deep, complicated word. It is frequently used. And it seems very popular in some contries.
I tried using it in a sentence in my head. Like, “My friend asked me to go to some boring party, I just replied equis.” Yup, that sounds about right. I’ve officially added a new word to my limited slang vocabulary!
