Rock the Undercut Long Comb Over: Tips and Tricks.

Must read

Okay, folks, let’s talk about my recent adventure with the undercut long comb over. I’ve been seeing this style everywhere and finally decided to take the plunge.

The Prep Work

First things first, I spent a good chunk of time scrolling through pictures online. I wanted to get a really good feel for the different variations – how short to go on the sides, how long to keep it on top, the whole deal. I saved a bunch of photos to my phone to show my barber.

The Barber Shop

Next up, I booked an appointment with my usual barber, Tony. He’s a good guy, and I trusted him not to completely mess up my hair. When I got there, I showed him the pictures I had saved. We chatted for a bit about what I was looking for, and he gave me his honest opinion, which I appreciated.

The Cut

Tony started by buzzing the sides and back. He used clippers with different guard sizes to create that faded look, blending the short hair into the longer hair on top. This part was a little nerve-wracking, but I kept reminding myself that hair grows back! He carefully trimmed, making sure the transition was smooth.

  • He used a number 2 guard on the very bottom.
  • Then, he switched to a number 3 and blended it upwards.
  • Finally, He used scissors to make final adjustment.

Then came the top. He left it pretty long, just like I wanted. He trimmed the ends to get rid of any split ends and added some texture by point-cutting into the hair. This helps it lay better and not look too bulky.

The Styling

After the cut, Tony washed my hair and showed me how to style it. He used some pomade – not too much, just enough to give it some hold and shine. He combed it over to the side, creating that classic comb-over look. I watched carefully so I could recreate it at home.

The Aftermath

Honestly, I was pretty stoked with the results. It looked sharp, and it was definitely a change from my usual style. I’ve been experimenting with different products and styling techniques since then. Some days I go for a more slicked-back look, other days I leave it a bit messier. It’s pretty versatile!

So That is my first undercut long comb over try, and very satisfied about it.
